I volunteered in the association of "live with dignity" that provides hot food and a loving hug to Holocaust survivors and the elderly who cannot take care of themselves.
With complete faith that we all need to remember the Holocaust survivors and take care of them especially now, Most of them do not have families to take care of them, and they live on very low allowances (sometimes even 1,349 NIS per month) which with the cost of living brings them to a situation that they can't afford to buy food
Even basic!
They don't care about buying brands
They don't care about eating in restaurants
They don't mind ordering products from AliExpress

It's not just hot food, it's also a loving hug.
Many times when I arrive at the survivors' home and I give them the meal, the first thought we will have is that they will immediately attack the food.
A person who is really hungry will immediately open the dish and start eating... to silence the unbearable hunger..
But no!!
They are trying to seize the only opportunity they have today to sit down and talk to a human being! Instead of bringing a knife and fork and start eating...
They bring a spoon and ask how much sugar.
I sit with them, listen to their stories, be there for them in the short time I have until the next address
It is one of the hardest and most fulfilling things at the same time 💙
I leave every meeting like this with tears in my eyes and great pride in my heart that I have the privilege of helping these people. זכות, לא פחות!

At every moment we work with the goal of reaching more and more Holocaust survivors and the elderly, and providing them with the necessities of life they need out of respect and a lot of love and attention
Thanks to you, we manage to reach 1568 Holocaust survivors and the elderly at 32 different distribution points every day!
Our goal: To provide hot food to every Holocaust survivor or elderly person living in famine
For 3 decades now, the volunteers at the association 'Live with Dignity' have been providing Holocaust survivors and the elderly who live in famine with hot, nutritious and healthy food, providing them with the most basic need - to live with dignity!
At every moment we work with the goal of reaching more and more Holocaust survivors and the elderly, and providing them with the necessities of life they need out of respect and a lot of love and attention

Who am I and why am I doing this?
I'm Idan Yakov, a social entrepreneur, and I know how to do one thing - to reach out to good people 😊
After acquiring the digital tools, I decided to dedicate my life to promoting associations that help and save those for whom no one else cares enough.
Before I start working with an association, it is important for me to volunteer myself and make sure that the work is really good and comes from the right place, and that the money goes where it needs to go.
I took advantage of the advertising skills I have acquired and this is what allows me to reach people like you and offer them to join our work through a donation or volunteering.
I believe in the "beautiful Israeli", if there is something special about our people it is that we know how to mobilize and help for the sake of others.
I know that if I reach enough people who care, we have the ability to care for those who have nothing left - and simply save lives, together
Every day I meet beautiful Israelis... from CEOs of high-tech companies who, after one time in the kitchen - bring the whole company to volunteer,
teenagers who stand at fundraising booths throughout the country or go door to door near their area of residence, all for those forgotten populations.
For 3 years now I have been working closely with the association to live with dignity and helping them reach donors and volunteers from all over the country.
I also go out into the field, help pack the meals and serve them personally to all those Holocaust survivors and our elderly. There is nothing that fills me more than that.

Training with respect!
We come to the housing areas of the elderly and encourage them to maintain physical fitness and do it in a fun and enjoyable group!
They are waiting for these meetings!
Nicole Zalitzman (Olympic gymnast) comes to some of the training sessions and makes sure that the hot food we give them will also go to the muscles.
Social Events
We also take care of them for social events! Allow them to ventilate and meet new people.
Sometimes it's an event at the hair salon where we bring all the elederly women in honor of Women's Day!
Sometimes it is a Bar Mitzvah celebration at the Kotel for an elderly person who has never had a Bar Mitzvah celebration before.
We are also there for them in their social life and show them that we are here for them - even in their routine days!
Home visits
Our volunteers come to the homes of the survivors and the elderly, מכירים אותם אישית, מקשיבים להם מתחברים אליהם, ממש נהיים החברים הכי טובים שלהם!
משחקים איתם שש בש ושותים איתם קפה, You come home to them and just have fun with them
The feeling they get as soon as we knock on the door with the daily meal, the understanding that there is someone who thinks of them and cares for them - this is what fills our volunteers! And after one time..
they cannot stop!
